The Staff at the Herchell Carrousel Factory Museum are excited about this summer and sharing history and the natural world with you! Camp at HCFM is a fun-filled week of new explorations and making friends. It is also an opportunity to learn, play games, and go on awesome adventures throughout the museum property. In order to make this a great experience for everyone, there are a few behavior guidelines that we ask you to adhere to:
BEHAVIOR TOWARDS FELLOW CAMPERS Respect other campers. Try to get to know everyone in the group and learn from them. Listen to the comments and discoveries of your fellow campers – even if you already know about that subject, other participants may not. Respect each other and yourself. Aggressive behaviors such as fighting, Throwing or breaking objects, and verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
BEHAVIOR TOWARDS THE MUSEUM PROPERTY Respect museum property, animals and the natural world. The museum is home to a collection of buildings, artifacts, and amusement rides. All of these things are considered a part of the museum collection and are valuable and should be treated with care.
BEHAVIOR TOWARDS CAMP TEACHERS AND OTHER HCFM STAFF Respect your teachers and all museum staff members. Please allow teachers to share interesting features about our history with you through games, hikes, and activities. Your participation will help the group learn throughout the week.
DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES If your child has trouble following the guidelines set above, the following discipline procedures will take effect. Discipline will be handled on a case by case basis. No bullying or behavior that results in the harm of another person will be tolerated. In this case, the child may be asked to leave, a parents or guardian called, and will be banned from camp.
